Medium Bill Brockwell

Our dear friend Bill was visiting  Latchingdon on Friday.  Bill is such a gentleman and a pleasure to see him working in his immaculate appearance, suited and booted. Bill will always be there proving Spirit’s existence time after time with his gentle manner and thoughtful approach to his messages. It’s always a pleasure to watch Bill.  See you soon old friend... Medium Pat Putt

It’s always a treat to see our Pat.  And this visit was no exception to the rule.  Pat’s Guide gave a wonderful address as Pat went in to trance to allow her Guide to greet and inspire us all directly, speaking of changes to both this here on the earth plain as well as changes in the way that Pat herself may work for Spirit in the future.  Pat’s messages were once again clear and informative with lots of hope for those that needed a little boost to get through some of those difficult times we all have.  Thank you Pat and your Guide.

Medium Christine Green

This was lovely Christine's first visit to Latchingdon and we were all really looking forward to new blood so to speak.  Well what a treat we had.  Christine is one of the best Mediums we have had the pleasure of sharing a service with and her personality and proof of survival was really breath taking and a real breath of fresh air.  Come again soon Christine please, it would be really nice to have you back.

Clairvoyant Evening with Poppy Bowling

Our Poppy Bowling from Dagenham is a lovely, lively young lady and works in a very personal way.  Her messages are always clear and sometimes comical but always bang on.

Poppy is a star and not one to be missed.  Keep you eye out for our Poppy around the circuit you’ll really enjoy her crisp, clear messages as well as the fun and laughter.

Medium Barbara Almond

What a treat to see Barbara back at Latchingdon SC.  Barbara as ever was on form, with her wonderful personality and cheery banter she had everyone glued to their seat.

Barbara gob smacked the congregation with exact names of those visiting from Spirit that mouths dropped.  Well done Barbie, lots of love Ian and Grace.

Medium Daniel Pitt

Another Home grown Medium made good.  Our Daniel (who works with and befriends Tony Stockwell) was also trained and encouraged be Grace and Ian and they are proud to call him the 8th wonder. The other 7, being their own children.  Daniel is always popular being a local boy made good and is an enigma all of his own.  Daniel worked his little socks off for Grace and Ian this week and was so spot on with one message that he got an involuntary round of applause from the congregation.  Well done Daniel.  Thanks mate...

Medium Mark Came

Now this one gives Grace and Ian so much pride.  To see our Marky, (as his Mother-In-Law Margaret De’Ath calls him) up on Platform, looking and being every inch the gentle, Medium that he is, and there is 6’ 6” of him as well.  There is soo much about Mark that is good, no wonder he is being booked all around.  Home grown Mark is just there.  Keep on growing Mark, Spritually that is...

Friday the 8th April was the very young and special Wayne McHugh.  Wayne’s guide did the Address and was it wonderful or what.  People were gob-smacked to here his eloquent guide speak through Wayne, and what a powerful message he gave us.  Wayne’s Clairvoyance was equally impressive and left the recipients in no doubt that their loved ones had been there to talk to them.

Medium June Piper

Friday 25th March saw the welcome return of bubbly June Piper.  June has been a working Medium for many a year and was so eager she was on the doorstep when we got to church.  June has a lovely way with her and gave a wonderful address.  June’s messages were as always on the button, to the point that Colin in the congregation was over the Moon at receiving a message from his childhood friend who had passed to Spirit early and came back with lots of evidence for Colin that he is well and happy on the other side of life.  Big Thank You June, we look forward to seeing you again.

Medium Mick Teale

This Friday it was the turn of Mick Teale and what a treat it was.  Mick’s address was about how hard it is to be a Medium and the responsibility that goes with it.  His messages were direct and on the ball as always.  Guess what, while Mick was giving his messages, as always we like to take some photos and aswell as getting Orbs around the hall and Mick, we have a very clear face on an old scrape of black paper on one of the back doors.

The Fledglings with Grace

What a evening we had on Friday, Grace got four of her fledglings working at our Church and we all had a nice time.  Doreen Chaired the evening and shone with her light heartedness, Jean took charge of the Healing Service and gave a beautiful Healing prayer which was very well thought out, Simon, Debbie and Richard were our working Mediums and although you would not have believed just how nervous Debbie was she gave a wonderful address talking about how she got in to Spiritualism and along with the help of Grace and Ian has come to be able to talk to her daughter Carly who passed to Spirit several years ago.

Medium Richard Harrison

At 6’ 10” tall, Richard towered over our Grace on Friday and with his lovely sense of humour, Richard took it all in his stride.  Well next week it’s Grace and her fledglings and let’s be honest, Richard’s shoes are going to take some filling.

Thank you Richard, we all had a great night and as the 1st Friday of each month is our Clairvoyant Evening we always get newbies to Latchingdon  and Richard’s messages were bang on with lots of fun and laughter along the way.

Medium Norman Oaks

Friday saw Medium and President of Westcliff SNU Church Norman Oaks at Latchingdon and what a night it was.  Norman’s Address on the night was both personal and inspiring and when he spoke of his fathers passing and how his father spoke before his actual passing to Spirit of those appoaching from the other side of life to greet him including his brother (Normans uncle) and Normans father’s wife and mother everyone in the hall were in awe.  Thank you so much Norman for sharing these wonderful memories.

Normans messages were well accepted and intermitted with love and humour from both those visiting members of the congregation as well as Norman.  Thanks mate for a great night.

Medium Lisa Evans

Last night saw the arrival of new Medium Lisa Evans, accompanied by Richard Sadler (President Colchester SNU Church).  Lisa worked well and has a gentle manor, her messages were well received and everyone enjoyed the evening.

It’s always lovely to Christine and her husband David back at Latchingdon, and as always Christine’s address (philosophy) with the help of her Spirit inspirers was clear, and to the point and everyone could take some positive help from it.  Her Mediumship was spot on and all her messages were very well received.

Medium Bill Rich

The 1st Friday of each month sees our Clairvoyant Evening and this month it was the turn of our good friend Bill Rich.  Welcome back Billy.

Bill’s style of Mediumship is very similar to Grace, straight forward and direct, and as always Bill worked extremely hard to give fantastic evidence of loved ones from the other side of life.

His no nonsense cheeky manner shown through and all his messages were accepted without any question that he was linking with those who wanted to communicate.

The History Bit

Before Grace and Ian opened Latchingdon Parish Hall as a Spiritualist Church, they had their wonderful Church at Cold Norton for 10 years.

 

In that time they had only closed the Church 3 times (except for Xmas break) and were devastated when they were told that the hall would close for several months for refurbishment.  At that time it seemed that Spirit had decided that it was time to call it a day.

 

The congregation was having none of that and they searched the local area for any alternatives and guess what, Latchingdon was born.  With grateful thanks to Maureen and Ray, it was all going to happen, and happen fast.  No sooner had a date been set to leave Cold Norton (2 weeks notice was all they got) then Latchingdon's doors opened.

 

It is true to say that God and Spirit work in wonderful ways.

Each week throughout the year, Latchingdon Spiritualist Church opens it’s doors wide to a varied and wonderful array of Mediums from all around the South East of England.

 

Our congregation is the most welcoming and all our visiting Mediums without exception remark just how fantastic and uplifting the singing is.

 

Ian said, “Some of our congregation have been with us for many and are truly loyal friends.  It always amazes me I say to people, all we do is open the doors and lay out the Church and they come”.

 

Latchingdon would be lost without the wonderful help of Mark and Tracy, Bill, Tara,Margaret, Maureen and Ray, who all help without asking.

 

Grace is always saying, “We have a committee of ONE and that’s me. Everyone else does as they’re told”.  Well Grace it’s working.

 

Latchingdon has an average congregation of 30 to 40 and as we hold a Monthly Clairvoyant Evening on the 1st Friday of each month this can rise in to the mid 80s.

Healing at Latchingdon

Grace and Ian are astounded at how many of their congregation have healing each week.  Usually it’s well over 50 %.

 

Grace says, “we are so lucky with our wonderful healer, and may I give a big thank you to them all for the hard work they do”.  The service starts at around 7:45 pm and there is always healing going on right to the last minute as well as after the service.

 

We have Spiritual Healers and Reiki Healers amongst our lovely healers and most even have both healing techniques at their disposal.

 

Our base for healing comes from our Wynn, Mark and Bill, but we can always call upon Gary to lend a hand if needed and more often than not they are all in demand.

 

Unfortunately, a number of the ladies at our church have been going through the dreaded C, but it is so uplifting to see just how the healing has helped them come through the other side and to see those that have been fighting it smile again leaves you speechless.

 

If you initially only come along for the healing, you will have one of the most enjoyable Friday nights in a long time and share it with some truly warm loving friends.
